Head Guide
Jean Wong
Jean grew up knowing that she wanted to be a teacher. Jean became interested in the teachings of Maria Montessori after seeing the development of her daughters as they progressed through the three-year program. She was amazed at the confidence and independence they exuded as young children. Jean earned her AMI Primary Montessori Teaching Diploma and Early Childhood Education Certification in 2004 and her Independent School Teacher Certificate. Jean has over ten years of experience as a co-Guide.

Assistant Guide
Serafina Mudrack
Serafina was born and raised in Lima Peru. She studied Primary Education in Lima at Educación Inicial for Children 3 to 6 years old. After several years living in Canada she was drawn to Maria Montessori’s philosophy as it matched her approach in supporting children in their young age and their growing process. Sera believes teaching and supporting young children to become independent and confident is important and rewarding. Serafina has been working with children since 1999 and has been a part of the FMSS school community for many years. She marvels seeing children grow, learn and discover new things everyday and to be part of their development process. Serafina enjoys being outdoors - hiking, biking, canoeing or camping are her favorites and you can find her following her other passions of food, dancing, listening to music, and travelling.

Assistant Guide
Yujun (Lola) Kang
Born and raised in China, Lola came to Canada as an international student in 2013. After receiving her permanent resident status, she was inspired to explore how to best support children’s growth and development, which led her to complete the Early Childhood Education program at Sprott Shaw College.
During her practicum, Lola discovered her passion for the Montessori method and its emphasis on fostering independence and supporting children’s mental health through early learning. After gaining hands-on experience in the field, she completed the AMI Montessori 0-6 Orientation program at the Montessori Training Centre of BC to deepen her knowledge and skills.
In addition to her work in the classroom, Lola is dedicated to advocating for children and families through her volunteer work with the Parent Support Society. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking and cooking. Lola is committed to creating a nurturing, respectful, and engaging environment for every child in her care.
