“The most important motive for work in school and in life is pleasure in work, pleasure in its result, and the knowledge of the value of the result to the community.”
Albert Einstein, 1879-1955. On Education
Family Montessori School Society is a non-profit society and is governed by a parent-run, volunteer Board of Directors. Our Society prides itself on its strong sense of community. We have Children’s Evenings, Parent Teas, a Winter Concert and Potluck, as well as a Year-end Picnic and Kindergarten Graduation. Parents are encouraged to communicate with their child’s guides, come in for observations and conferences, and visit the school with their child, who can ‘show them the ropes’. Parents also help with the many extra jobs that need to be done in order to maintain a well-run and efficient school. Some of these jobs include: playground maintenance, recycling, laundry, carpet cleaning, year-end cleaning of the classroom, and sewing.
Fundraising is an important part of the viability of the Society. Parent fundraising has ensured that our classrooms are supplied with the highest quality educational materials and that our tuition rates remain competitive. As a non-profit Society, all fundraising dollars are invested in our students and the quality of our programming.
