“The most important motive for work in school and in life is pleasure in work, pleasure in its result, and the knowledge of the value of the result to the community.”

Albert Einstein, 1879-1955. On Education

Family Montessori School Society prides itself on its strong sense of community. Parents are encouraged to communicate with their child’s teachers, come in for observations and conferences, and visit the school with their child, who can ‘show them the ropes’. We have Children’s Evenings, Parent Teas, a Christmas Concert and Potluck, as well as a year-end picnic.

Parent’s role in their child’s Montessori education:

• Keep teachers informed as to what is happening at home.

• Ensure children are sent to school in clothing that allows them to be as independent as possible- i.e. no laces if they cannot tie them.

• Read to your child on a regular basis and have them see you reading.

• Give your child responsibilities at home.

• Help your child be as independent as possible and give them time to fulfil their responsibilities.
