School Year & Events

Our school year closely follows the public school calendar. For returning students, school starts the first Tuesday after Labour Day. (See our Parents and Students section for a copy of our current school calendar.)

To allow for a smooth and gradual adaptation to the class environment, however, new children attend class in a staggered entry process with 2-3 new children joining the classroom each day throughout the second week of school.

The adaptation period may be extended as required until the child feels comfortable. Returning children attend for normal hours from the first day onwards, the Extended-day children have a shorter day for the first week only.

In general, our schools observe the same school holidays as the public schools, and our teachers have 5 professional days per year.
